Understand the purpose of audio-visual promos (P1, M1 & D1)

 The music promo: 


This music video helps promote the Barbie movie. This is evident as in this music video they use the set barbie was filmed in which contributes to the promotion. As Niki Minaj and Ice spice have a huge following and many fans that look up to them having them in the set of barbie and also being in the end of the movie makes the targeted audience more interested and excited to watch the movie so as much as people were already interested to go watch this movie Ice spice and Niki Minaj have also got their fans on top of the movies target audience giving it more views. At 1:17 Ice spice is driving in the car that they drove in the movie of the mother and daughter with barbie driving to barbie world. 

AGILE:

The age of the target audience for the barbie song would be 13+, this is because i feel like it is appropriate for that age group. 

The gender is aimed at girls however I think both genders can watch the music video if they like.

 People would be interested in this as it has an upbeat rhythm to it with meaningful lyrics as well as having two famous people in the music video and they use green screen when they are on the jet skis, and they are wearing scandalous outfits which may be an interest to some people.

 The location was mostly at Warner Bros, but some was filmed in Leavesden in England. 

I would say the ethnicity would be towards all ethnicities as it is not really targeted to a certain group of people. 

Codes and conventions:

They would expect to see Ice Spice and Niki Minaj in the music video as well as other back up dancers involved; they would also expect the video to be viral, for example at 0:11 the men who were dancing and moving like barbies as the background dancers. The audience would expect this video to be viral as it has famous singers/rappers in the video such as the feature of Ice Spice. The conventions used are editing for example the use of voice overs was used at the start of the video, the two girls also use toy barbies to play with in the barbie play house set the toy version these barbies and the playhouse set are used as props for the music video, they also zoom in on the doll one by one as a close up and have edited the names, when Ice Spice came it froze it and put her name next to her look alike doll. This then jumps to Ice Spice and Niki Minaj in the real barbie set. Ice Spice and Niki are lip syncing to the song and also have men as background dancers to corollate to the Barbie movie. 

Analysing the audio visual:

In this music trailer there is use of synergy through Niki Minaj and Ice Spice's fans brings on a huger audience to watch the barbie film on top of the audience the film has already, this benefits the film as it gets more views and attention to bring them success and profit. In the video Niki and Ice Spice use the filming set of the barbie movie which promotes the movie for their viewers to also go and watch it as there are hints, they may be involved in the movie (this song was in the end of the movie due to the synergy and promotion it has given).It also promotes the toys that barbie sell as this is used as props at 0:01 the two girls playing with barbies that look like Ice Spice and Niki. The message of this music video is to buy the barbie dolls from the company Barbie as well as promoting to watching the movie, so they gain profit and success from the amount of people that were overly excited and who matched the theme of the movie.  


Film Trailer: 

The purpose of this film to portray the survival skills of surviving and living in the jungle. Mowgli was found to be in the jungle and was found by a wolf and a black panther and was brought up as a feral child, he doesn’t claim to be a wolf or a man yet behaves like both. At 1:33 Mowgli tries to do his best to protect his family of animals whilst the hunters are out there chasing to kill them, he fights the hunters and protects his family this shows survival as he does everything, he can to get the hunters away and he gets injured a lot yet is still fighting to protect his family. It informs the audience to always stick by your families side no matter the situation. This movie entertains the audience through Mowgli having a great bond with the animals he was brought up with and the stages of him growing up and picking their living personalities for example walking the way an animal does on all 4s as well as going from tree to tree hanging on them to get around the jungle and jumping from cliff to cliff having a very big jump, this is entertaining as it is interesting that he has these skills and how he acts like an animal as well as having a good bond with the ones that brought him up. This product is sold by having a trailer made for the movie which promotes the movie for their target audience to watch in cinemas or get a Netflix subscription. 

AGILE:

The age of the target audience for Mowgli is 13+ this is because the movie is suitable for that age group.

 There is not a specific gender that the movie is targeted, it is a family movie so anyone can watch it.

 People would be interested in this movie as it has a good trailer and when i watched the trailer it made me watch the full movie as it makes you want to know what happens, for example how Mowgli saves the jungle or where he has to go as it is not safe for him.

The location of this film is located in the jungles of India where Mowgli was brought up by wolves.

The ethnicity is not specifically stated I would argue any ethnicity can watch this movie, however Indians and Pakistanis would slightly like it more as the native language is spoken and they would have a better understanding of the movie when Mowgli is being looked after by the Indian village. 

Codes and conventions:

The audience would expect a lot of scenes in the jungle and Mowgli learning survival skills as this was in the trailer, they would also expect to see Mowgli in the Indian village celebrating their cultures and living how they do as hunters in the village and how he notices he is different from his family pack of wolves and questions his life. The conventions used is sound for example, at the start of the trailer it has calm music and shows the jungle as a bird's eye view. throughout the trailer different types of music, for example later on at 1:25 the music becomes more intense to show the action of the film. The audience would expect to see real life like animals in the film through the use of editing as well as having good enough voice overs and lip syncing for the animals. The way the conventions appeal to the audience is by have high quality voice overs and controlling the lip syncing of the animals, this interests the audience as it amazes them how the animals can properly talk and communicate with Mowgli. This will motivate the audience for example if they are learning something difficult, they should always keep trying not matter how hard it is they will succeed. 

Analysing the audio visual:

This trailer has a message of never giving up and trying your best and to stick up and stay by your family/friends. This is evident as in the trailer at 0:30 when Baloo is training Mowgli to be like how the wolfs are, to go from tree-to-tree Mowgli kept falling down every time but never gave up no matter how much he tried and got hurt but eventually he managed to do it and they screamed of joy. Mowgli tried his absolute best of his abilities to prove he's a wolf and he wont fail when it comes to his running test. Mowgli also sticks up for his family and cares for them as in the trailer at 0:42 he says to his "brother" 'you shouldn't let them pick on you like that' as the other wolves siblings were bullying him.

TV trailer:

TOP BOY Trailer Season 1 (2019) Netflix Serious 


The purpose of this Tv series is to teach kids and adults about drugs, gangs and crimes, it also teaches the audience what it's like to live in poverty and what it can do to you. The purpose of the show is to keep a small circle so you won't have any problems by accusing people if you had a big circle, also to not take drugs as it shows the harm the different types of drugs can do and none of them are good for you. In terms of poverty the show portrays the houses the characters live in and some even get kicked out for not paying or having to be deported and it leaves a message to be grateful of what you have as others may have even worse. This show is entertaining as it does have some funny scenes and the characters do have jokes between them and this keeps the audience engaged, it is also entertaining with the tasks the characters get set to do it makes it interesting for the audience to see if they have what it takes to do the difficult tasks they've been told to do. This tv show is sold by making many billboards, tv adverts and trailers for their target audience as well as making themselves known, having these many different promotions for the show helps them gain more viewers and also gets Netflix more subscribers/members.

AGILE:

 The age rating for top boy is 15+, this is because it includes violence, nudity, drug misuse and much more. 

There is no specific gender again for this tv series anyone can watch it. 

The audience would be interested in this series to find out more of what happens in this serial as it shows scenes in the trailer how the two main characters come together trying to get to the top as a team in selling drugs to become top boy and the scene where the other gang of drug dealers have noticed the duo that have come together and they've noticed how they're on a roll and have a good supply chain as well as distributing it to make money so they need to up their game to get to the top.

 The location of Top boy is located in Hackney, east London. 

There is no targeted ethnicity for this tv series, and anyone can watch it. 

Codes and conventions:

The audience would expect a lot of drug use, crime, language, violence and injury detail as it is evident in the trailer what the series is about and that there will definitely be violence due to two drug dealing gangs being enemies with one another and having issues with drugs and people involved. Props in this tv trailer would be the guns, cars, houses etc for the characters to use when filming, for example at 0:27 a gun is shows with a character holding it getting ready to kill someone. A lot of sound effects are being used in the trailer for instance when a light is being used at 0:07 to light a cigar or when the gun is being loaded it makes a click sound and at 0:17 when Sully and Jay do a handshake, and when 0:27 when the two men spud each other, it makes a tap sound.  The conventions appeal to the audience by including the small details as it makes a huge difference and impact on the series itself just by including sound effects, without it would be more boring, which is why it is important to add the small details as well when editing. 

Analysing the audio visual:

The message of this trailer is to never fully put your trust in people especially the ones closest to you as in this tv series. At 0:52 Jamie was moments away from killing someone and joined summerhouse and became close with Dushane to get out of prison and made a good negotiation which suits the both of them. The trailer also has a message to care for your family no matter the situation, in this trailer Jamie has two brother however the younger one does not know what he does for a living and the older brother says 'he provides for us doesn't he?' at 1:24 meaning for Steph the younger brother to not worry what Jamie does he didn't want to make Steph worried about what he does and scared if he found out the way he provides for his brothers. Aron saying this also indicated that regardless of what Jamie does at least they have a house to live in and have the basic human necessities and they should be grateful. This will teach the audience to put themselves before others and care for themselves and keep an eye on the ones they trust as this trailer shows trusted ones are not always you safest bet. 


Game:

The purpose of this game is for their target audience to play and try out all their different types of games, for example, horror, action, obby's survival, roleplay etc. This game is very entertaining as it has many different genres of games which allows their audience to play which ever game they choose to play and what they're in the mood for this allows them to pick from a huge variety of different games making it more entertaining as the options are not limited which is a benefit as it will never get boring from having these variety of options. At 0:03 it says "discover millions of games" evident to their many options to play.  This game educates you to have gaming skills, within this game there are many trivia games or other games with trivia questions which makes you gain some knowledge this is great as you get to play whilst learning new facts. This game promotes it self by making posters, YouTube adverts, and sponsors. By having sponsors for example youtubers who play Roblox would play the game and it interests their audience by playing entertaining games making the audience also get the game and play it as well.

AGILE:

 The age rating for the game Roblox is 13+ although there are many childish games it is not safe for kids any younger than 13 to be on this gaming site. 

This gaming site is gender free anyone can play. 

The audience would be interested in this game as there is a huge variety of games to play with your friends or family which is fun, the options include genres such as, action, trivia, horror, obby's and many more, the game is also fun as it allows kids to explore and let their imagination be free with no limits at 0:20 it says "be anything you can imagine" which tells the users to go all out when playing and have fun. 

There is no location for this as it is a game which has a website and an app if you wish to install it for quicker access. 

Any ethnicity can play this game it has no correlation whatsoever to do with ethnicity. 

Codes and conventions:

The audience would expect a load of games with many different genres as I've mentioned they would also expect the features of the game such as making and adding other users and talking in the chat on each gaming server they join. One of the conventions used in this trailer is sound, the background music in this trailer is very upbeat and energetic portraying the huge variety of games the site has and how exciting it is. The editing of this trailer has snippets of the most famous well-known games showing the audience what the games include to intrigue them. The conventions would interest the audience as the editing shows snippets, so it tells the audience what to expect in the games and what the experience is like and having the upbeat music in the background shows the exciting side when getting to play all the games they have for you to choose from. 

Analysing the audio visual:

This trailer has a message for their audience to let their imagination be free and to not have a limit as within their games especially the roleplay genre section of games they should not stop and limit themselves when gaming they should go beyond their limits and enjoy the experience whilst playing as it brings more joy, in the trailer at 0:20 it says 'be anything you can imagine' illustrating they can be what they destine/desire to be in the game they can do this by designing their characters clothing, face and posture to portray to other who they are and what they're like physically and personality wise when gaming. This may relate to the audience as they could already be going beyond their imagination or it could be boosting their audience's confidence when playing.

BBC TWO: Car Ident - 2015 
 

The purpose is to show that the car is looking around or searching for something signifying the many shows BBC two contains. The car is also in the shape of number 2 to convey the channel number. The tone of voice is professional however it is engaging by being slightly enthusiastic when talking about the show name and what time it is on. This ident is entertaining through the use of the car making noises and zooming around, it also has a satellite on the back of it to indicate the signal for TVs. This sells its products by making adverts for their shows on this channel which gets the audience to not only watch the show they have promoted through the advert but to also go explore what other shows they have on the channel which portrays the audience to have interest. 

AGILE:

The age rating for this Tv ident is not necessary as it is just a loading screen and voice over until the actual show has started playing on screen. 

Any gender is free to watch this TV ident.

 The audience would be interested as it is a car moving around a lot signifying the amount of shows BBC 2 have and the car moving around a lot portrays the excitement for the show to start playing on screen as it cannot stop moving. 

The location is a green screen with the use of a voice over. 

Any ethnicity can watch this TV ident. 

Codes and conventions:

The audience would expect background music, voice overs and sound effects conventions for this ident trailer, this is because all TV idents have background music and voice overs. For example, right at the start the car instantly starts moving around signifying its waiting around impatiently like the audience as they can't wait for the show to start playing. It also has a voice over in this trailer at 0:09 to state the name of the show and what time with an intriguing but professional voice to interest the audience. The conventions would interest the audience through the toy car moving around to show its excitement this may be entertaining for the audience whilst waiting.
 
Analysing the audio visual:
 
In this trailer the voice over talks in the end at 0:09 telling the audience what show is on tonight on the channel and giving a hint of what the show is. The car moving around in the shape of a number 2 indicates to the audience the show is exciting and it can't wait for the show to be on also giving the audience that exciting feeling for the show to start already. 

Concluding paragraph:

Overall, in my opinion I think the music trailer Barbie is the best. This is because it has synergy included, Barbie, Niki and Ice Spice targeting a very large audience. The trailer is also filmed on the set used in Barbie to promote the movie and show the coloration between the music video and the movie itself. The song has male dancers which move like toy dolls, and we can see this at the start at 0:10 showing they are the kens in this music video which relates to the movie. The syncing of the music audio to the sound of the actual music video for Niki and Ice Spice to lip sync has been done/edited smoothly, this is evident as there is no errors or faults when w As the music video is made and has a feature of famous rappers/singers they both have a really huge fan base audience making the movie having an even bigger audience than they already had before just by getting their target audience's attention making the movie more successful and famous.

Legal, moral and ethical issues (P2/M2)

The legal issues that you may face is through work, by this I mean images for example you can get an image from google for your work and the issues that can be faced from this is not asking permission from the person who made the image for you to be able to put on your work. You can get sued or fined for using someone else's work without permission. You could possibly go to jail if they take you to court and you're not able to pay up they can take products from you.  The ethical issues are something morally right or wrong actions or sayings. Such as, being racist, body shaming, harassment. For example, body shaming if a model was to do a photoshoot for a brand as an advert and they are being body shamed on there it is morally wrong as everyone can now see the advert and also see the body shaming that is going on. This will give a bad representation of their brand and business allowing their target audience and others to stop buying products from them as they have this bad repre
